Jonathan Martin-DeMoor's photographic prints have been exhibited in juried shows in Edmonton and Ottawa, and published in various formats. Trained as an ecologist, he has lived, worked, and photographed in the forests of northern and western Canada for many years. A self-taught photographer, for the past decade he has developed his photographic craft to push beyond a mere literal presentation of his subject matter (primarily forest and mountain landscapes). Using a wide range of creative choices and tools—from composition and equipment to post-processing techniques—he creates images that represent common scenes in uncommon ways.
