It is a challenge to create photography of the Canadian Rocky Mountains that presents a vision of the landscape distinctive enough to draw—and hold—the attention of a viewing public completely saturated by images of majestic mountain scenery. The photographs in this portfolio capture locations less often visited and short moments in time when the light, the weather, and the season were ‘ just so’ to reveal a more subtle, nuanced character of the mountain landscape. The original photographic captures were converted to black and white and the heavy vignetting was added during processing to evoke the feeling of old photographs and the timelessness of the mountains, and to focus the attention of the viewer to the subject at the centre of the photograph by removing visual details from the periphery.

I offer custom-made fine art prints of the photographs in this gallery for sale. I produce the prints myself using high quality, archival inks and papers.
